SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 388
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
pleasure in recognizing Lucretia Dennis Small on the occasion
of her retirement March 31, 2005, after 31 years of dedicated and
exemplary service to the Texas Workforce Commission and to the
State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Lucretia has distinguished herself as a grant
manager and writer of exceptional skill with the Texas Workforce
Commission; her professionalism and expertise have earned her
the respect and admiration of her co-workers; and
WHEREAS, Lucretia served as Unit Supervisor of Social
Policy Research and liaison to the Department of Labor; she
managed innovative projects at the Texas Department of Human
Resources and coauthored the Head Start Collaboration Project;
her work in the Child Protective Services Program encompassed
15 counties in West Texas and positively changed the lives of
many abused and neglected children; and
WHEREAS, The State of Texas has benefited greatly from the
talent, dependability, and wisdom of this outstanding public
servant; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby express its sincere appreciation to
Lucretia Dennis Small for her years of service to the citizens of
Texas, and extend to her best wishes for a fulfilling retirement;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
