SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 419

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to honor Cody Vasquez, who was recently selected by the 
Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) for membership
in the 2005 All-State Band; and

	WHEREAS, After first competing for a seat in an all-region
band and then advancing to one of the five area auditions held 
across the state, Cody was one of only 240 students selected for 
the ATSSB All-State Band; and

	WHEREAS, Cody's dedication and talent have brought honor 
to himself and to members of his family, his school, and his 
community, who are all justifiably proud of his achievements; and

	WHEREAS, Cody is a student of Barry Morgan and plays the 
baritone at school under the direction of Forrest Perry; he is 
the first band member from Van Horn High School to be chosen for 
membership in the ATSSB All-State Band; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
79th Legislature, hereby commend Cody Vasquez on earning this 
honor and congratulate him on his accomplishment; and, be it 
further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
