SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 437

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Graciella "Grace" Perez, who is retiring from the 
Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after more than
27 years of loyal service to the state; and

	WHEREAS, Grace began her career in state service at the 
Texas Building and Procurement Commission in 1977, where she 
worked until 1979; she worked at the Department of Human Services 
from 1979 to 1984; and

	WHEREAS, In 1984, she was employed with the Texas Workforce 
Commission, and in 2001, she moved to the comptroller's office; and

	WHEREAS, Throughout her service with the state, Grace has 
handled her many responsibilities with exceptional skill and 
dedication; and

	WHEREAS, She is admired and respected by her colleagues, 
and her presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts
will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Grace Perez for her exemplary 
career and her many contributions to this state and extend to her 
best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
