SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 438
In Memory
of
Nancy Jane Davis Hees
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Nancy Jane Davis Hees, who died recently
at the age of 43; and
WHEREAS, Nancy was a 1979 graduate of John H. Reagan High
School and attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches;
she spent two years with the Up With People program and made
friends around the world; and
WHEREAS, For most of her working life, Nancy Hees was an
ombudsman with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and her
advocacy, sincerity, and concern for others will be greatly
missed; and
WHEREAS, A caring, kind-hearted woman who was highly
respected in her professional field and in her personal life,
Nancy enriched the lives of all who knew her with her compassion,
warmth, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Nancy lived her faith in her
daily life; she was admired and respected by everyone who knew
her, and she will long be remembered for her quick smile, keen
wit, and generous spirit; and
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife and mother, loyal sister,
and beloved daughter, and she leaves behind memories that will be
treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Texas Senate, 79th Legislature, hereby
pay tribute to the life of Nancy Jane Davis Hees and extend
sincere condolences to her bereaved family: her husband, Mark;
her daughter, Emily Jane; her mother, Jane Davis; her brother,
Andy Davis; and her sisters, Cindy Davis, Karen Taylor, and
Julie Bernatovicz; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Nancy Jane Davis Hees.
