SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 446
In Memory
of
Esther Miles
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Galena Park in mourning the death of Esther Miles,
who died February 20, 2005, at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, She was born January 25, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
to Sol and Eva Zimberoff; she married Luther P. Miles on
July 12, 1947; and
WHEREAS, A resident of the Galena Park area for 45 years,
Esther was a member of the First Baptist Church of Galena Park;
she enriched all who knew her with her compassion, her warmth,
and her kindness; and
WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she
leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Esther Miles: her husband of 57 years, Luther Miles; her
daughter, Bonnie Strickland; her sons, Martin Louis Miles and
Woody Miles; her brother, Harold Zimberoff; her sister, Sarah Holland;
and her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Esther Miles.
