SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 464

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
welcome the nursing students and nursing faculty members who are 
visiting the Capitol today as part of Student Nurse Days at the 
Capitol; and

	WHEREAS, Nursing students represent the next generation of 
nurses and the future of nursing in this state and nation; and

	WHEREAS, The approximately 1,700 nursing faculty members 
in the state serve as mentors and role models for nursing 
students; and

	WHEREAS, Nursing students cite the tremendous influence of 
nursing faculty members on their future practices and pay tribute 
to these mentors for instilling in them ethical and professional 
principles; and

	WHEREAS, The Texas Student Nurses Association has made 
recognizing the work and dedication of nursing faculty its special
project for 2005 and has asked the Texas Senate to proclaim
May of 2005 as Honor Nursing Faculty Month; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby proclaim May 2005 Honor Nursing Faculty 
Month and express best wishes to all attending Student Nurse Days 
at the Capitol; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in 
honor of nursing students and nursing faculty as an expression of 
high regard from the Texas Senate.
