SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 465
In Memory
of
Carlos Luis Vallejo, Sr.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Carlos Luis Vallejo, Sr., who died February 3, 2005, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, Carlos Vallejo was born April 16, 1920, in Villa Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, to Franciso Vallejo, Sr., and Augustina Calderon Vallejo, and he grew up in Creedmoor; he proudly served his country as an infantryman in the United States Army during World War II; and WHEREAS, Carlos lived his life to the fullest, and he enjoyed playing golf, going fishing, and playing bingo; and WHEREAS, A distinguished and highly respected gentleman, Carlos Vallejo, Sr., will long be remembered by those who knew him for his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Carlos Luis Vallejo, Sr.: his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose Mary Kelly Vallejo; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelli Vallejo Kiessling and Edwin Kiessling II; his son, Carlos L. Vallejo, Jr.; and his five grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carlos Luis Vallejo, Sr. Barrientos ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on March 29, 2005, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
