SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 483
In Memory
of
Margarita H. Saldivar
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Houston in mourning the loss of Margarita H. Saldivar, who
died February 4, 2005, at the age of 68; and
WHEREAS, Margarita was born November 26, 1936, in Houston
to Augustin and Trinidad Hernandez; and
WHEREAS, Margarita worked for a number of years in the ice
cream division of Farm Oaks; in her private life, she enjoyed
arranging flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family and
friends, especially her children and grandson; and
WHEREAS, Margarita Hernandez was a member of Lakewood Church;
a highly respected and generous lady, Margarita enriched the lives
of all who knew her with her compassion, warmth, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Margarita H. Saldivar: her loving husband of 46 years,
Richard Saldivar, Jr.; her son, Richard Saldivar III; her daughter
and son-in-law, Rachel and Albert Menchaca; her mother,
Trinidad Hernandez; her sisters, Mary Suarez, Dora Fernandez,
Janie Hernandez, Annie DeLagarza, Christina Zepeda, and Tina Garcia;
her brothers, Augustin Hernandez, Andrew Hernandez, Joe Hernandez,
and Raymond Hernandez; and her grandson, John Albert Menchaca;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Margarita H. Saldivar.
