SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 500
In Memory
of
Joe R. Jasso
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the death of Joe R. Jasso, who
died February 22, 2005, at the age of 88; and
WHEREAS, Joe was born October 5, 1916, in El Campo to
Antonio and Genoveva Jasso; and
WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army as a surgical
technician during World War II; after retiring from Kelly Air
Force Base in 1974, he served as an aeromedical technician for
the Texas Air National Guard; and
WHEREAS, Active in numerous church and civic organizations,
Joe was happiest when helping those in need and participating in
family celebrations and gatherings; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Joe R. Jasso: his beloved wife of 58 years,
Mary Ynman Jasso; his daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and
Francisco Garcia, Joycelyn and Librado Cavazos, and Marilyn Jasso;
his sister, Lydia Jasso Tamez; and his five grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Joe R. Jasso.
