SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 506

	WHEREAS, Many years ago, Cipriano Alonzo Aleman and 
Herminia "Minnie" Valdez Ramos made a lifetime commitment to each 
other, and their mutual trust has been amply rewarded, for they 
are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on April 2, 2005; 
and
	WHEREAS, Cipriano and Minnie met when they were both 
students at University Junior High School; Minnie and Cipriano 
were married on April 2, 1955; and
	WHEREAS, Minnie graduated from Austin High School in May
of 1955; she served as a nutritionist at Saint Julia's Catholic 
School from 1962 to 1966; she then worked at Tracor until IBM 
opened in 1967; she worked for IBM for 17 years and retired in 
1984; and
	WHEREAS, Cipriano was a teenager when he began working at 
Davidson Sash and Door Company; after the company closed, he 
began working for Stripling-Blake Lumber Company, and he retired 
after nearly 30 years of loyal service; and
	WHEREAS, Minnie and Cipriano are noted for their service to 
their church and the community; they are active parishioners of 
Saint Julia's Catholic Church, and they have given generously of 
their time and energy to help others; and
	WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 
years of their marriage, yet Cipriano and Minnie have cherished 
traditional family and moral values; they have been blessed with 
a wonderful family and are beloved by their three children, Roy, 
Robert, and Gloria, and their six grandchildren and great-grandson;
and
	WHEREAS, The loving relationship that Minnie and Cipriano 
share is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore,
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Cipriano Aleman
on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day.
