SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 507
WHEREAS, Joe and Rose Barraco, the owners of Prego Pasta
House in Dallas, have made significant contributions to the
restaurant business in the community since 1982; and
WHEREAS, The family restaurant opened in its original
location in a building built by the Barraco family in 1951 on
Greenville Avenue; Mr. and Mrs. Barraco's sons, Jimmy, Joey, and
Tony, initially proposed the idea of an eatery to fill the space;
and
WHEREAS, Featuring Southern Italian cooking, Prego's menu
includes Mrs. Barraco's longtime family recipes, which she has in
turn passed on to her sons; the family recently opened two
additional restaurants, a second location in Dallas and a Pizza
Express in Plano; and
WHEREAS, Through their impressive entrepreneurial endeavors
and unwavering commitment to quality and service, the Barraco
family has played a significant role in the Dallas restaurant
industry, and they may indeed take great pride in the success of
their family-owned business; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Joe and Rose Barraco for nearly
a quarter-century of achievement in the Dallas business
community and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Barraco as an expression of high regard
by the Texas Senate.
