SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 511
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Central Catholic High School of San Antonio on the 
occasion of the dedication and blessing of the new Alia K. Herrera
Pavilion on April 12, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, This new structure is a fitting tribute to
Alia Herrera, who supported Central Catholic High School and was 
involved in many school activities while her sons were students at
the school; her favorite project was chairing the fundraising party
for Central Catholic High School during the Fiesta River Parade; and
	WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School was founded by the 
Marianist teaching brothers of the Society of Mary in 1852; Central
Catholic High School was the first boys' school in San Antonio 
and is one of the largest private secondary schools for young men 
in Texas; and
	WHEREAS, Located next to the Alumni & Friends Patio, the 
Alia K. Herrera Pavilion will be used to serve concessions at 
athletic events and to accommodate meetings, reunions, and other 
school activities; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Central Catholic High School
on the opening of the Alia K. Herrera Pavilion; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the school as a memento of this occasion.
