SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 531
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize G. Richard Ferdinandtsen, president of American
National Insurance Company, on the grand occasion of the
company's centennial anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Since it was chartered in 1905, American National
Insurance Company has evolved into a major industry leader and
ranks among our country's largest life insurance companies;
today, the company and its subsidiaries provide personalized
services to more than five million policyholders throughout the
United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and
American Samoa; and
WHEREAS, The company offers a broad line of insurance
services and products, including life, health, property,
casualty, and credit insurance, annuities, and pension plans;
Securities Management and Research, Incorporated, a broker-dealer
subsidiary of the company, offers mutual funds and other
securities; and
WHEREAS, American National Insurance Company is authorized
to sell its products to American military personnel in Europe,
and through a subsidiary, American National de México, Compañia
de Seguros de Vida, the company offers insurance and securities
in Mexico; and
WHEREAS, American National Insurance Company is hosting a
Centennial Gala on April 2, 2005, to celebrate its 100 years of
service to its policyholders, stockholders, and the public;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend President G. Richard Ferdinandtsen,
employees, and other management personnel of American National
Insurance Company on their success and their many contributions
to our state and country and extend to them best wishes for a
memorable 100th anniversary celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
