SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 535

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay 
tribute to Lovenia Posey on the grand occasion of her 105th birthday
on April 5, 2005; and

	WHEREAS, Born April 5, 1900, Mrs. Posey has been witness to 
the momentous events of the century; and

	WHEREAS, Well known for her charm and generosity of spirit, 
this gracious lady is a revered resident of the Acres Home community;
and

	WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of Mount Ararat 
Baptist Church, Mrs. Posey is noted for her dignity, her compassion
for others, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the 
fullest; and

	WHEREAS, In celebration of her birthday, friends are gathering
on April 9 at the Mount Ararat Baptist Church Family Life Center 
to congratulate her and share in this milestone in her life; now, 
therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby recognize Lovenia Posey as a treasured 
citizen of Houston and our state; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as a memento of this special day.
