SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 544

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
join the family and friends of Henry Shepherd of Montgomery, Alabama,
in recognizing this beloved gentleman for his outstanding 
accomplishments; and
	WHEREAS, Journal Clerk of the Alabama House of Representatives
since 1993, Henry is known for his hard work and dedication to the 
legislative process and legislative traditions; and
	WHEREAS, As a member of the American Society of Legislative 
Clerks and Secretaries, Henry has many warm associations across 
the United States, and the members of the Texas Senate delegation 
to the society consider him a loyal and valued friend; and
	WHEREAS, Those who know Henry have been enriched by his 
generosity, his kind heart, and a smile that has been known to 
light up a room; and
	WHEREAS, An avid outdoorsman, Henry resembles an Alabama 
version of Crocodile Dundee with his signature black hat, but the 
role he cherishes is not that of a would-be adventurer, but 
rather that of a doting grandfather; and
	WHEREAS, Henry and his wife, Greta, share many interests, 
but most of all they share a love of family and the State of Alabama;
and
	WHEREAS, Henry Shepherd has earned the respect and 
friendship of all who know him, particularly his legislative 
associates throughout the United States, and he is truly 
deserving of honor and praise; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
79th Legislature, hereby commend Henry Shepherd for his untiring 
devotion to the citizens of Alabama and express sincere 
appreciation to a dedicated public servant; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Henry as an expression of high regard and best wishes from the 
Texas Senate.
