SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 554

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize Big League Dreams Sports on the occasion of 
its Grand Opening in League City on April 16, 2005; and

	WHEREAS, Best known for baseball and softball fields 
designed and built as replicas of historic major league 
stadiums such as Fenway Park and Wrigley Field, Big League 
Dreams Sports facilities offer a variety of sports experiences
for the entire family; and

	WHEREAS, The Grand Opening will present a softball game 
featuring the Hollywood All-Stars, local sports legends, and 
Texas media celebrities; a sports memorabilia auction will be 
held to raise money for regional youth sports organizations; 
and

	WHEREAS, Among the sports local legends appearing 
are former Houston Astros J.R. Richard, Jimmy Wynn, and 
Larry Dierker; in addition to the celebrity game, there will
be activities for young children, indoor soccer matches, 
and a fireworks display; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Big League Dreams Sports
and League City for this valuable addition to the civic life 
of the area; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared 
for them as a memento of this special occasion.
