SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 556
WHEREAS, Sabino Pio Renteria and Lori Cervenak-Renteria
placed great faith in the future when they married, and they
have been amply rewarded, as they are now celebrating their
25th wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Sabino Pio Renteria and Lori Cervenak met in 1978
while working at IBM and married at Fiesta Gardens in East Austin
on April 11, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and
sorrows of everyday living; and
WHEREAS, Lori is noted for her 11-year career creating and
implementing grant-funded programs for the homeless and
disadvantaged youths in East Austin schools; Sabino is
celebrating his 33rd anniversary with IBM this year; he was the
first Hispanic hired and trained to fix IBM machines in Austin;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Renteria have been blessed with a
wonderful family and are much beloved by their sons, David Pio
and Sabino Carlos, and their daughter, Sol Ana; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Renteria are sharing their happiness
at an anniversary dance hosted by their children on
April 8, 2005, at the Tillery Street Theater; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Renteria attribute their long and
happy marriage to the art of compromise, the love and support of
their family and friends, and their shared passion for the sport
of fishing and grassroots campaigning; their marriage is truly an
inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
Sabino Pio Renteria and Lori Cervenak-Renteria on their
25th wedding anniversary; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
