SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 559
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to honor Specialist Julio Sanchez for his service to his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and WHEREAS, A 1987 graduate of James Pace High School in Brownsville, Julio Sanchez enlisted in the United States Army in 1988 and was honorably discharged in 1992; he joined the United States Army Reserve in 1996; and WHEREAS, Julio and his wife, Sandra, were married on December 31, 1994; their two sons, Julio Cesar Sanchez and Cesar Agusto Sanchez, are both very proud of their father; and WHEREAS, Julio Sanchez began his career as a police officer with the Brownsville Police Department in April of 1999; he was called to active duty by the United States Army Reserve on February 10, 2003; and WHEREAS, Assigned to the 370th Transportation Company and operating out of Iraq and Kuwait, Specialist Sanchez performed the hazardous task of delivering essential supplies to forward-stationed troops; and WHEREAS, Specialist Sanchez was stationed in Iraq and Kuwait from April 20, 2003, until April 7, 2004, and is proud to have served his country in the cause of freedom; and WHEREAS, This state and nation are grateful for the courageous service of Specialist Julio Sanchez and for his safe and timely return; his family and friends will forever honor his dedication and sacrifice; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Specialist Julio Sanchez for his meritorious service to his country; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of gratitude and esteem from the Texas Senate.
