SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 582

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the members of the Panola College Chorale and welcome 
them to the State Capitol on April 14, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, Led by Larry Brumley, director of choirs at
Panola College, the Panola College Chorale has for many years 
toured the nation, performing before a wide range of audiences; 
and
	WHEREAS, A favorite of governors around the country, this 
fine choir has performed for Governors Ray Maybus and Kirk Fordice
of Mississippi, Governor Roy Roemer of Colorado, and Governors 
Ann Richards, George W. Bush, and Rick Perry of Texas; and
	WHEREAS, In great demand at hospitals, the choir has sung 
for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, Houston, 
Lexington, and Saint Louis, for the Arkansas Children's Hospital 
in Little Rock, and for the Saint Jude Children's Research 
Hospital in Memphis; and
	WHEREAS, In December of 2002, the Panola Pipers show choir 
was featured in the White House performing for the Christmas 
holidays for touring guests; the choir has toured 14 states; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend the Panola College Chorale for 
its fine work and superior performances; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the Panola College Chorale as an expression of esteem from the 
Texas Senate.
