SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 601
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rhonda Jones for her selection as a recipient of a
Weselene Wiley Inspirational Award from the Dallas Chapter of the
National Association of Black Social Workers, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda was presented the award as a medical honoree
at the Hezekiah Jerry Scholarship Luncheon on March 5, 2005;
Rhonda exemplifies the theme of this year's luncheon, "Continuing
To Make A Difference"; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda is a compassionate advocate for the two most
vulnerable groups of people in our society, children and the elderly;
a longtime caseworker and supervisor for the Texas Department of
Human Services Child Protective Services Division, Rhonda serves
today as a social worker and activity director with the South Dallas
Nursing Home; and
WHEREAS, She is a devout Christian and a member of Golden Gate
Missionary Baptist Church; she has earned a social work associate
license and a nursing facility administrator license; and
WHEREAS, A highly respected community leader, Rhonda is a
source of strength to others and an inspiration to her colleagues,
and she deserves recognition for her outstanding work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Rhonda Jones for her exceptional
leadership and many accomplishments in the field of social work;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
