SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 622

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to pay tribute to Roberta Meads on the grand occasion of her 
90th birthday; and

	WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm
and generosity of spirit, and she is a beloved resident of 
her community; and

	WHEREAS, Roberta was born on April 18, 1915, in 
Earlville, Illinois; she lost her mother at an early age, and
she and her two older brothers were raised by her father; and

	WHEREAS, On April 17, 1933, she married Donald Darnell; 
their beautiful baby daughter, Wanda, was born on February 20, 1934;
and

	WHEREAS, Roberta has been blessed with four wonderful 
grandchildren and with great-grandchildren, all of whom have 
been a source of much pride and joy; and

	WHEREAS, Beloved and respected by many, Roberta is noted
for her courage, her compassion for others, and her enthusiasm 
for living each day to the fullest; and

	WHEREAS, In celebration of her birthday, friends and 
family will gather on April 16, 2005, to congratulate her and 
share in this milestone in her life; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
79th Legislature, hereby recognize Roberta Meads as a treasured 
citizen of our state and extend to her best wishes for a joyous 
birthday celebration; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as a memento of this special day.
