SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628

	WHEREAS, The Conroe Fire Department has recently earned 
the distinction of having the fastest response time in
Montgomery County, and their impressive record has earned its 
members the respect and gratitude of the citizens they faithfully 
serve; and

	WHEREAS, According to data compiled by the National Fire 
Incident Reporting System from 1986 to 2002, Conroe firefighters 
arrived at almost 75 percent of all structure fires in five 
minutes or less; and

	WHEREAS, Those dedicated public servants who risk their 
own lives in order to protect the lives and homes of their fellow 
Texans provide a vital service, and the members of the Conroe 
Fire Department are truly deserving of special recognition and 
praise; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate the firefighters of the 
Conroe Fire Department on having the fastest response time in 
Montgomery County and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued success with their important work; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 
prepared for the department as an expression of high regard from 
the Texas Senate.
