SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 638
In Memory
of
J. Mark Fuller
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Amarillo in mourning the loss of J. Mark Fuller,
who died November 21, 2004, at the age of 54; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Amarillo, Mark was a
graduate of Caprock High School and West Texas State University;
and
WHEREAS, As the co-owner and president of L.A. Fuller and
Sons Construction, Mark was a leader with vision, and he was
responsible for much of the growth and success of the company;
a compassionate boss, he felt a profound duty to provide for his
family and the families of his employees; and
WHEREAS, Due to his proven leadership, he was chosen to
serve as the statewide president of the Association of General
Contractors in 2001; that same year, he was inducted into the
Caprock High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mark was an active member of
Trinity Fellowship Church; he also served in many leadership
roles at San Jacinto Baptist Church and Paramount Baptist Church;
and
WHEREAS, Mark channeled his steadfast faith into numerous
other outlets, including serving for many years as chairman of
the board of the San Jacinto Christian Academy; and
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, Mark
gave unstintingly of himself to others, and his wisdom,
compassion, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who
knew him; and
WHEREAS, Mark lived his life to the fullest and was a
devoted husband and father, and he leaves behind memories that
will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of J. Mark Fuller: his wife of 33 years,
Judy Bentley Fuller; his daughter and son-in-law, Shanda and
Donnie Lane; his son, Dustin M. Fuller; his brother, Mike Fuller;
and his granddaughters, Alexis and Audrey Lane; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of J. Mark Fuller.
