SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 646
In Memory
of
Paul K. Lane
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Paul K. Lane, who died recently at the
age of 64; and
WHEREAS, Paul will be remembered for the many contributions
he made to the State of Texas; he was a highly respected principal
and teacher, and during his 13 years with the Communities In Schools
State Office, he helped the young people of our state to stay in
school and prepare for life; and
WHEREAS, He spent his entire career of over 40 years working
in the field of education; and
WHEREAS, While Paul was committed to his work, he was equally
dedicated to caring for his daughters, his family, and his friends;
he was always considerate and gave unselfishly to others; and
WHEREAS, He was a wonderful father, grandfather, co-worker,
and friend who was noted for his sense of humor and his kindness,and
he will be greatly missed by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Paul K. Lane
and extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family: his
daughters, Lisa Lane-Long and Susie Gentry; his sons-in-law,
Mike Gentry and Clifford Long; his grandchildren, Danielle Johnson,
Colter Johnson, and Logan Gentry; and his sister, Beth Gardner;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Paul Lane.
