SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 661
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the High School Students United with NASA to Create
Hardware project teams for the excellent work they do to create
opportunities for students to apply their math and science
skills; and
WHEREAS, A collaborative effort between NASA and the
Career and Technology Education Department of the Clear Creek,
Cypress-Fairbanks, Houston, and Pasadena Independent School
Districts, this exemplary program serves to introduce students
to real-world applications of the knowledge they gain in the
classroom; and
WHEREAS, In this partnership, NASA provides raw materials
and engineering expertise, and teachers work with students to
fabricate items used in the International Space Station training
modules; and
WHEREAS, The project teams will be honored by their school
districts at a special ceremony on May 2, 2005, at the Clear Creek
High School auditorium; these teams are truly deserving of
legislative recognition for their achievements; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend the High School Students United
with NASA to Create Hardware project teams for their efforts in
furthering scientific and technological knowledge in the
schools; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the teams as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
