SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 679
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Sergeant First Class Robert Christopher Napier on the
occasion of his retirement from the United States Army Reserve;
and
WHEREAS, Currently serving as the Operations
noncommissioned officer in the Simulation Branch of the Battle
Projection Group, 1st Brigade, 75th Division, Sergeant Napier
previously served in the Texas National Guard and the Tennessee
National Guard and was formerly on active duty; and
WHEREAS, In January of 2003, Sergeant Napier participated
in the first mobilization of the 75th Division since World War II;
he played a vital role in the training of United States Army
Reserve and National Guard units in their preparation for
deployment to Iraq; and
WHEREAS, The epitome of General Douglas MacArthur's famous
motto "Duty, Honor, Country," Sergeant Napier has exemplified
the best of dedication, loyalty, and commitment shown by soldiers
in the service of this nation; and
WHEREAS, On May 19, 2005, the date of his retirement,
Sergeant Napier will have served the United States Army Reserve
with distinction for 22 years and four months, and he is justly
deserving of recognition and appreciation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Sergeant First Class
Robert Christopher Napier for his long and distinguished
service in the United States Army Reserve; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
