SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 736
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the members of the national recording group B5 for their special appearance at Lancaster High School; and WHEREAS, Known for their old-fashioned charm and their high-energy stage show featuring street dancing and remarkable acrobatics, B5 consists of five brothers ages 10 to 16: Dustin, Kelly, Patrick, Carnell, and Bryan Breeding; and WHEREAS, Originally known as the TNT Boyz, B5 started performing professionally seven years ago; the group won numerous talent shows, and as they continued to make the rounds in the music industry, they appeared with such outstanding performers as Mario Winans, Ginuwine, Bow Wow, and Usher; the quintet even traveled to Monaco and performed for Prince Albert; and WHEREAS, Knowing the pressures that many young people face today, B5 uses clean lyrics and age-appropriate content as a means to encourage the young people today to stay on the right path and engage in activities through which they can give back to the community; and WHEREAS, The Lancaster High School senior class and music department, having excelled in many areas and having accomplished numerous goals, exemplify this spirit of giving to the community; in honor of their achievements, B5 will perform a special concert on May 4, 2005, for their benefit; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend B5 for their performance honoring the students of Lancaster High School; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this talented group as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
