SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 799
	WHEREAS, Dr. Tom Annunziato of Aledo has earned the 
admiration and esteem of his colleagues, patients, and community 
for his inspiring dedication to his fellow Texans; and
	WHEREAS, Named 2005 Optometrist of the Year by the Texas 
Optometric Association in recognition of his unselfish service 
and exemplary commitment to providing high-quality eye care,
Dr. Annunziato was also the recipient of the association's 
Presidential Award for 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004; in addition, 
he has been named the 2005 National Optometrist of the Year by the 
American Optometric Association; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Annunziato has been in private practice for
25 years; he founded 1st Eye Care in 1977, and keeps offices in
Fort Worth and Weatherford; his areas of specialization include 
adult vision and contact lens evaluation and management, 
glaucoma, pre-operative and post-operative evaluation and 
management of cataract and lens implant surgery, and LASIK 
surgery; board-certified in ocular therapeutics, he has 
conducted clinical research and has been involved with numerous 
professional studies; he is the author of several publications; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Annunziato is a member of the Tarrant County 
Optometric Society, the Texas Optometric Association, and the 
American Optometric Association; he shares his expertise and 
extensive knowledge with such worthy organizations as the
North Texas Lions Organ and Eye Bank and Prevent Blindness; he 
provides free eye exams for clients of the Presbyterian Night 
Shelter and free eye exams for 3-year-olds with the See To Learn 
project; and
	WHEREAS, This highly regarded gentleman also works on behalf 
of his community through membership with the Arlington Heights 
United Methodist Church and various civic organizations, including 
the Rotary and Lions Clubs; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Tom Annunziato serves his patients and his 
community with dedication and professional excellence, and he is 
most deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Tom Annunziato for his 
exceptional service as an optometrist and a community leader and 
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Dr. Annunziato as an expression of high regard from the 
Texas Senate.
