SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 822

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Mike Nelson, president of Mayday Manufacturing Company,
which was honored as the Small Business Subcontractor of the Year 
for Region VI by the Small Business Administration; and
	WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade is presented annually to
businesses that have provided outstanding goods and services to 
government and industry; to be nominated for this honor, companies
must excel in many areas, including overall management, labor 
relations, technical capabilities, quality and cost performance, 
and exceptional results; and
	WHEREAS, Led by President Mike Nelson, Mayday Manufacturing
Company serves more than 450 customers in the global aerospace 
industry and represents the aerospace subcontractor community in 
researching and developing productivity methods; the company was 
chosen by the United States Air Force as the premier aerospace 
turning subcontractor in the United States; and
	WHEREAS, Mike Nelson has received the admiration and gratitude
of those who work for him, and he has made valuable contributions 
to the Denton community and the entire state through his leadership;
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Mike Nelson for his exceptional 
leadership and congratulate him on the selection of Mayday
Manufacturing Company as Region VI Small Business Subcontractor 
of the Year; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
