SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 823
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas on the occasion of their 129th Annual Training Conference and Convention in Wichita Falls on June 11-15, 2005; and WHEREAS, One of the largest trade associations in Texas, the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association includes 1,100 fire departments, 18,000 individuals, and over 80 industrial fire brigades in its membership; and WHEREAS, The association certifies volunteer firefighters, offering a program that encourages training, education, and certification for all volunteers; and WHEREAS, To promote, unify, represent and educate the firefighters of Texas is the mission of this exemplary organization; it sponsors the world's largest firefighting training school every summer at Texas A&M University to advance these goals; and WHEREAS, The admirable work of this organization and its dedication to the safety and well-being of its members and the public have earned it the respect of the citizens of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the State Firemen's and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas and extend to them best wishes on the occasion of their 129th Annual Training Conference and Convention; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the members of the association as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
