SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 857
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Meryl-Ina Samantha Kizzee for earning the Girl Scout
Gold Award; this fine young woman is being presented the coveted
award by the San Jacinto Girl Scouts Council; and
WHEREAS, The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest level of
achievement in the Girl Scout program; and
WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award,
girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and gain
skills that will contribute to their future success; and
WHEREAS, Meryl-Ina has displayed leadership by designing
and conducting a service project that will have a positive and
lasting effect on her community; she devoted more than 500 public
service hours to the homeless, including coordinating a food
pantry and preparing a comprehensive homeless resource
directory; and
WHEREAS, In earning the Gold Award, Meryl-Ina has brought
great honor to herself, her family, her council, her community,
and her state, and she deserves recognition for her impressive
accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Meryl-Ina Samantha Kizzee on
receiving this prestigious award and congratulate her on her
outstanding achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
