SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 879

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the THIRTYunder30 Invitational Mixer, a 15th 
anniversary celebration of Houston Style Magazine, which will 
honor 30 young Houstonians; and

	WHEREAS, The invitational mixer is being held in the
Lee P. Brown Foyer at the Ensemble Theatre on May 18, 2005, and 
will spotlight some of the city's most promising young people; 
and

	WHEREAS, The mixer will bring together Houston's brightest 
young leaders, ages 18 to 29, to celebrate their achievements and 
to introduce them to senior scholars, entrepreneurs, executives, 
and practitioners to form intellectual and social alliances; and

	WHEREAS, The highly anticipated event will be attended by 
people from diverse backgrounds who all share a common desire to 
work hard, to strive to do their best, and to effect real change 
where it is most needed; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Houston Style Magazine for 
honoring and spotlighting Houston's promising young citizens and 
extend best wishes to all for a festive and fruitful event; and, 
be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an 
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
