SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 887
In Memory
of
Dora Lawson
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Dora Lawson, who died
April 30, 2005, at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, Dora was born in San Antonio on April 4, 1920, to
Refugia Aguirre and Jesus Aguirre, Sr.; she was married to the
late Aubrey Lawson; and
WHEREAS, The strength and courage she displayed throughout
her life was truly inspirational; and
WHEREAS, Dora was a caring and generous woman, who was
admired and respected by all who knew her, and she will long be
remembered for her wisdom, her warmth, and her gracious manner;
and
WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she
leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Dora Lawson: her children, Sandra Magallanes,
Debra Perez, Aubrey Lawson, and April Hutzler; her sisters,
Connie Manso and Ernestine Pena; her brother, Armando Aguirre;
and her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Dora Lawson.
