SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 902
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Blake Ingram, Jr., of Mesquite, who has been selected to serve as a student ambassador in the People to People Student Ambassador Program; and WHEREAS, Created in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, this outstanding program reaches across borders, cultures, and political systems to create better understanding between the people of this nation and people around the world; and WHEREAS, The title of student ambassador is a great honor, and Blake represents the City of Mesquite, the State of Texas, and the United States with distinction; and WHEREAS, China offers many superb opportunities to further the goals of the People to People Student Ambassador Program, and Blake will visit Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, and Hong Kong in his role as student ambassador; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Blake Ingram, Jr., on his appointment as student ambassador and extend appreciation to the people of China for their participation in this remarkable program and best wishes to them for a bright and prosperous future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Blake Ingram, Jr., and for the people of China as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
