SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 909
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize May 15 through 21, 2005, as National Public Works Week
in Texas and to welcome the members of the Southeast Texas Branch
of the American Public Works Association on the occasion of their
visit to the State Capitol on May 17; and
WHEREAS, Public works services provided throughout the
state and country are an essential part of everyday life; the
health, safety, and comfort of every citizen is dependent upon
the efficient operation of public works systems; and
WHEREAS, The support of an informed citizenry is essential
to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs
such as water, sewers, streets and highways, public buildings,
and waste collection; and
WHEREAS, The planning, design, construction, and
day-to-day operation of these vital systems is carried out by
qualified and dedicated personnel; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend the thousands of dedicated
people in the field of public works and express appreciation to
all who are participating in National Public Works Week in Texas;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of National Public Works Week.
