SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 910
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Children's Medical Center of Dallas for being named a Level 1 Trauma Center-Pediatric by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons and the Texas Department of State Health Services; and WHEREAS, Level 1 is the highest designation a trauma center can receive, and the criteria for earning this distinction are very demanding; Children's Medical Center of Dallas is the only pediatric hospital in Texas and one of only 14 in the country to have met these standards; and WHEREAS, To meet these standards, the hospital instituted a comprehensive injury prevention program, a trauma-specific research program, and an outreach and education program; and WHEREAS, Children's Medical Center of Dallas was founded over 90 years ago, and in addition to trauma care, it offers general surgery, pain management, physical therapy, neuropsychology, and many other services; the center works closely with many other agencies in the Dallas area to better serve the health care needs of the community's children; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Children's Medical Center of Dallas for receiving the Level 1 Trauma Center-Pediatric designation by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons and the Texas Department of State Health Services; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the medical center as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
