SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 922

	WHEREAS, Michael Bracken, a Texas Master Certified Nursery 
Professional in Dallas, has been named board chair of the Texas 
Nursery and Landscape Association for 2005-2006; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. Bracken has contributed to the economic and 
environmental prosperity of the State of Texas for many years
as the second generation to operate his family's Dallas-based 
business, Nicholson Hardie; and

	WHEREAS, This esteemed professional has served on the 
Texas Nursery and Landscape Association state board of directors 
since 1994, offering his expertise and knowledge to assist in the 
functioning of the organization; he has also represented Texas as 
a volunteer and officeholder for national nursery and landscape 
associations; and

	WHEREAS, The beauty of our state is enhanced by the careful 
cultivation and protection of our landscapes and plant life and, 
as chair of the association, Michael Bracken will surely dedicate 
himself to the concerns of growers, landscape contractors, 
nursery retailers, and the entire Texas green industry; now, 
therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Michael Bracken on his 
election as board chair of the Texas Nursery and Landscape 
Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful
tenure; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Bracken as an expression of high regard from the  
Texas Senate.
