SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 925
In Memory
of
Evangelina Santos Caffey
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Seguin in mourning the loss of Evangelina Santos Caffey, who
died October 5, 2004, at the age of 69; and
WHEREAS, Eva was born September 26, 1935, in Seguin to
Pedro and Guadalupe Santos; Eva married Clifford C. Caffey and
raised four children; she was a dedicated employee of Motorola,
Incorporated, for 20 years, retiring in 1995; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to helping children, Eva served as a
cafeteria monitor at numerous schools in Seguin, and she was a
chaperone with the Seguin High School Mighty Matador Band; and
WHEREAS, Eva enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood; she
had a fondness for dancing, cooking, scratch-off lottery tickets,
and search and find puzzles and her homemade chicken and rice and
her empanadas were family favorites; she was also an enthusiastic
fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Astros; and
WHEREAS, A devoted mother and grandmother who lived at
631 South River Street in Seguin for over 40 years, Eva leaves
behind memories that will be cherished forever by her family and
many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Evangelina Santos Caffey: her sons,
Rene Castillo and Scott Caffey; her daughters, Cathleen Caffey
and Lavonne Caffey Zaiontz; and the rest of her beloved extended
family; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Evangelina Santos Caffey.
