SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 927
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure
in recognizing Renaldo Dario Simoni, who is graduating from the
United States Military Academy at West Point on May 28, 2005; and
WHEREAS, The son of a veteran, Renaldo was born at Fort Hood
and spent most of his youth traveling while his father served in
the army; he graduated from high school in Houston and counts
among his achievements the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts and the
ability to speak several languages; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary young man is the grandson of
Robert Bernal, a knowledgeable and dependable car guard who has
worked for the Texas Senate since August of 2000; Robert served
his country in the United States Navy during World War II and
witnessed the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduation, Renaldo will be commissioned a
second lieutenant and join the elite corps of the fine men and
women in the United States armed forces who have made a commitment
to protect and serve their country; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Renaldo Dario Simoni for his
worthy goals and accomplishments and extend to him best wishes
for success in the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
