SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 935
In Memory
of
Aaron N. Cepeda, Sr.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Marine Sergeant
Aaron N. Cepeda, Sr., who died in Iraq at the age of 22; and
WHEREAS, Aaron graduated from Health Careers High School
and from A&M University--Corpus Christi in August of 2004; and
WHEREAS, He demonstrated exceptional dedication and
courage and an unflagging devotion to duty while serving in
Operation Iraqi Freedom; he was serving with the 3rd Battalion,
25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, when he was wounded by
an explosive in Al Anbar Province during combat operations; and
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity,
Aaron Cepeda gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth,
and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
WHEREAS, Aaron was a devoted husband, father, and son, and
he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to his bereaved
family: his wife, Ella Cepeda; his son, Aaron "A.J." Cepeda, Jr.;
his daughter, Journee Cepeda; his parents, Michael Cepeda, Sr.,
and Diana Cepeda; and his brother, Michael Cepeda, Jr.; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Aaron N. Cepeda, Sr.
