SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 936

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Mike Branch, president of Branch-Smith Publishing for 
his service to retailers, growers, and landscapers in the 
horticulture business; and

	WHEREAS, Mike owns and operates Branch-Smith Publishing, a 
fourth-generation family business in Fort Worth; and

	WHEREAS, Branch-Smith Publishing has set a standard of 
excellence for small businesses in Texas by winning the Malcolm 
Baldrige National Quality Award, which recognizes exemplary 
achievements and performance excellence in business; and

	WHEREAS, Through his publishing business, Mike has 
provided green-industry members with tools and information and 
has developed effective communications vehicles for the nursery 
and landscaping industry; he has been a member of the Texas 
Nursery and Landscape Association board of directors since 1996, 
serving as chair in 2004 through 2005; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Mike Branch for his 
accomplishments in publishing and his expertise in providing 
information to green-industry members and promoting the nursery 
and landscape industry; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
