SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 969
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Roy Douglas Prince, who is retiring from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on May 31, 2005, after more than 27 years of loyal service with the state; and WHEREAS, Roy Prince joined the comptroller's office in 1978 and served in the Austin Audit Division; he then served in the Office of the Texas State Treasury before joining the Unclaimed Property Division of the comptroller's office in 1996; and WHEREAS, He also served as a supervisor in the Bankruptcy Section of the Revenue Accounting Division, and he is now retiring from his position in the division's Sales Tax Refund Verifications Section; and WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Roy has handled his many responsibilities in the comptroller's office with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and WHEREAS, Roy is admired and respected by his colleagues, and his presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Roy Douglas Prince on his exceptional service and his many contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
