SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 999
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize Robert Parten, who is retiring after serving for
21 years as Tarrant County's Elections Administrator; and
WHEREAS, Robert Parten is renown for his dedication and
professionalism; he began working in the elections office in
1964, the year the county bought its first voting machines; and
WHEREAS, He was appointed head of the elections office in
1984, and his expertise and dedication in dealing with the
challenges of his offices were an inspiration to his colleagues;
and
WHEREAS, One of the high points of his tenure was traveling
to Albania and Bosnia as an international election observer; and
WHEREAS, Respected for his professionalism and sound
judgment, this distinguished gentleman has earned the respect of
all who have known him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Robert Parten for his years of
exemplary service to Tarrant County and to our state and wish him
success in his future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
