SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1007
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Frederick Range, Sr., who is retiring from the Dallas
Independent School District after 29 years of dedicated service
as an instructor in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps
at James Madison High School; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Range, Sr., began teaching in the
Dallas Independent School District on August 17, 1976, after a
21-year career in the United States Army that included service in
Vietnam; he received numerous medals and commendations for his
exemplary service; and
WHEREAS, As a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps
instructor at James Madison High School, he taught his students
the value of citizenship, leadership, personal responsibility,
and service to the community, and he has had a positive impact on
the lives of many young people; and
WHEREAS, Noted for his dedication to his work,
Frederick Range earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues
and of his students, and his presence at James Madison High School
will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Frederick Range, Sr., for his
many contributions to the Dallas Independent School District and
to our state and extend to him best wishes for the retirement
years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
