SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1009

	WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and 
promise, Gregory Thomas Jeffus of Troop 99 in Houston advanced 
through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life 
classes before recently attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, In receiving the coveted Eagle Badge, this fine 
young man has become one of the select few to achieve this
distinguished honor; and

	WHEREAS, By conducting a service project that allowed him 
to exercise his leadership abilities, Gregory has completed the 
requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout and has at the same time 
benefited his community; and

	WHEREAS, This personable young man has brought great honor 
to himself, his family, his troop, and his state in joining the 
elite corps of Eagle Scouts; and

	WHEREAS, Gregory is truly a shining example to his troop 
and to the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Gregory Thomas Jeffus on 
earning the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his 
outstanding achievement; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Eagle Scout Jeffus as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
