SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1052
In Memory
of
Luis Ernesto Rodriguez
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Luis Ernesto Rodriguez,
who died May 20, 2005, at the age of 49; and
WHEREAS, Born July 26, 1955, in Del Rio, Texas, Luis was
a citizen of the world; he was at ease climbing pyramids in the
Yucatán, snorkeling in the Caribbean, or hiking through the
jungles of Costa Rica; and
WHEREAS, Luis lived life to the fullest in all his travels,
but his love for his friends and family and the essence of Austin
itself always brought him back--the cool waters of Barton Springs,
the floors of the Armadillo, the drums of Eeyore's, the blues at
Antone's, and much more; and
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and kindness, Luis
gave generously of himself to others, and he leaves behind
memories that will be cherished forever by his family and many
friends; and
WHEREAS, Luis enriched the lives of others through his
smile and his laughter and his warmth and compassion, and his
love of life will ever serve as an inspiration to all who knew
him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Luis Ernesto Rodriguez; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Luis Ernesto Rodriguez.
