SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1067

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
join the citizens of Houston in recognizing Sean Michael Howard 
of Troop 61, who is receiving the Boy Scout Eagle Award; and

	WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and 
promise, Sean advanced from Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and 
Life classes to Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding 
leadership through the planning and execution of a service 
project which has benefited his community; and

	WHEREAS, Sean's project was the construction of a food 
donation box for Peace Community Church; he also held a food 
drive within his troop, and the food he collected will benefit 
low-income families in the area; and

	WHEREAS, Only two out of every 100 Boy Scouts earn the 
exceptional privilege of being named to the elite corps of
Eagle Scouts; by earning the coveted Eagle Badge, Sean brings 
great honor to himself, his family, and his troop, and he is a 
fine example for all the young people of Texas; now, therefore, 
be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Sean Michael Howard for earning 
the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great 
achievement; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Eagle Scout Howard as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
