SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1076

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the Iraan High School Braves golf team on the occasion 
of winning their second consecutive Class 1A University 
Interscholastic League state championship title; and
	WHEREAS, The Iraan Braves successfully defended their 
state championship at the Morris Williams Golf Course in Austin 
with a two-day winning score of 632; with exceptional 
ball-striking ability and an impressive putting display, they 
battled back and overcame a seven-shot deficit from the first day 
of play to win by 11 strokes; and
	WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great 
talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and team 
members Seth Ice, Rob McCall, Dustin McMahon, Sean McMahon, 
Dustin Perry, and Trey Spittler can take great pride in their 
performance; and
	WHEREAS, Under the outstanding leadership of Coach Trey Sisco,
the Braves have shown exceptional teamwork and discipline; and
	WHEREAS, Iraan High School and the City of Iraan are justly 
proud of the Braves for their hard work, their impressive talent, 
and their admirable sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend the Iraan High School Braves for 
their successful season and congratulate them on winning the 
Class 1A golf championship at the University Interscholastic 
League State Tournament; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
