SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1092
In Memory
of
Mary Jo Massara
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Mary Jo Massara, who died
May 9, 2005, at the age of 60; and
WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Mary Jo graduated from
Brackenridge High School; she began her career at the San Antonio
Express-News in 1963; and
WHEREAS, She became the newspaper's promotion director ten
years later and rose to the position of vice president of marketing
in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Mary Jo Massara formed her own company to promote
tourism in San Antonio; she was recently an account executive
with Diverse Media; and
WHEREAS, She was respected in the community for her many
accomplishments; she often helped raise money for nonprofit
organizations and mentored many young men and women in the
San Antonio business community; and
WHEREAS, Mary Jo will be remembered for her bubbly
personality, her wit, and her dauntless spirit; she leaves behind
memories that will be cherished by her family and many friends;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Mary Jo Massara: her brother, Martin Mario Massara;
her aunts, Sofia Cruz Herrera and Celia Cruz Flores; and her
uncle, Raul Lozano Cruz; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Mary Jo Massara.
