No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code as it relates to sale or service of an alcoholic beverage to a person on the person’s 21st birthday and provides a criminal penalty for violating certain provisions of the bill.
Section 1 of the bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to provide that license or permit holders be charged with a Class A misdemeanor if they allow an alcoholic beverage to be sold, served, dispensed, or delivered to a person on their 21st birthday before the specified time.
The bill, if enacted, would take effect on September 1, 2005.
